About The Author and the Blog itself

This blog was created by myself (Scott Barter) to give back to the audio enthusiast community that sparked my interest in the topic to begin with. My experience with audio products began within my family, with my father and uncle being large influences on my love of music, although not sharing their music taste. After much trial and error, experimentation with various products and software, I consider myself relatively informed in the audio scene, and hopefully able to translate my experience into advice to assist others with the hobby. My relationship with high end listening began with the speaker end of the listening spectrum, after custom building my own metre tall floor standing speaker cabinets with 7 drivers per stand. After treating my then bedroom into a studio room, and tuning all of my speakers with measurement microphones and software, I began providing services to independent artists to mix, master and assist with recording. I quickly found that mixing is achievable through speakers alone, it was not up to a level which I was happy with, so my research began into reference headphones and the gear that goes along with it.

This blog is designed to provide the information needed to make important decisions when it comes to audio hardware, for those not so well-versed in the topic. It is my contribution to the community which helped my interest grow into what it is today.
